Visit the famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market and the equally renowned Maeklong Railway Market during this unforgettable excursion in Thailand.

Maeklong Railway Market: Watch out for the train at Maeklong! This extraordinary market is located about 80 kilometers west of Bangkok. Here, stalls are set up right along the railway tracks, and when the train approaches, vendors quickly fold up their shops to let it pass. It’s a fascinating sight to see and experience, as the entire market transforms in an instant to make way for the train. Watch in awe as the vendors swiftly and precisely rearrange their products just in time for the train's arrival.

Damnoen Saduak Floating Market: Enjoy a visit through the narrow and winding Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, located about 100 kilometers west of Bangkok. This lively market offers a unique experience where vendors sell their goods directly from their boats. You’ll be captivated by the vibrant colors of the fruits, vegetables, spices, and other local products. Discover the daily life of the locals as they navigate the canals and interact with visitors. Don’t hesitate to try traditional Thai dishes prepared on the small floating boat-restaurants.

Wat Samphran (Dragon Temple): Then, set off to discover a truly unique temple — the Chinese Dragon Temple. This extraordinary temple features a tall pink tower encircled by a majestic Chinese dragon. The tower stands 17 stories high and is wrapped by a green, scaly dragon shimmering in the sunlight. Its massive orange head rests at the top, appearing to watch over the site with a benevolent gaze. The temple complex also includes many beautifully decorated smaller temples and stunning statues inspired by the Chinese zodiac.

This trip is privately organized, with an English-speaking driver to comfortably take you from one place to another. If desired, a French-speaking guide can be provided to give you detailed explanations throughout the tour.

However, on the way from Bangkok to Maeklong, the driver will drop you off at the train station so you can enjoy a scenic train ride to Maeklong. The driver will then meet you at the Maeklong station upon your arrival.

Morning departure around 8:00 AM from your hotel to explore the Thai capital and its must-see temples. Depending on the type of visit you choose (guide only, driver only, or both guide and driver), transportation will be by public transit or private car.

First stop: Wat Phra Kaew and the Grand Palace, one of the most sacred places in Thailand (long pants and closed shoes required). Discover this magnificent complex, which includes the famous Wat Phra Kaew temple and its highly revered Emerald Buddha statue, dating back to the 14th century. The central courtyard houses the King’s residence and the halls of state affairs. Only two of the throne halls are open to the public.

After taking in the grandeur of the Grand Palace, you’ll head to Wat Arun, a riverside temple along the Chao Phraya River, one of the most iconic landmarks of Bangkok that you’ve likely seen in many photos.

Wat Pho temple is also a must-see in the capital, thanks to its massive Reclining Buddha image. It is the oldest and largest temple complex in Bangkok, housing over 1,000 images of the Buddha. It is especially famous for its 46-meter-long and 15-meter-high gold-plated Reclining Buddha.

If you wish, a short boat ride in the nearby area can be arranged before heading into the impressive maze of Chinatown for the final visit of the day. You will then return to your hotel around 5:30 PM.

Although Bangkok is the capital of Thailand, it is a very young city that only became the capital in 1782, succeeding Ayutthaya. While some places are must-sees, such as the Grand Royal Palace, the city can actually be visited quite quickly since most of it consists of residential areas, businesses, and shopping centers.

However, it is very easy to explore the surrounding region from the capital, with Kanchanaburi and Ayutthaya as the main cities.

Join us for 4 days in Bangkok and its surroundings with our all-inclusive tour so you don't miss the best of the region.

Day 1: Bangkok and its street food On your first day, simply take the time to settle into your hotel before setting off on a culinary adventure with your guide, who will introduce you to Thailand’s great specialty: street food.

Thai people eat all day long, and exploring the night street markets will give you a real glimpse into their daily life. Plus, you’ll have the chance to try all kinds of dishes without worry, thanks to your guide (English-speaking, French-speaking available upon request) who will explain the different dishes to you.

Day 2: The Essentials of the Capital After your first night in the capital, you will set out for a day of discovering the must-see monuments with your French-speaking guide. There is no private car for this day; instead, you will experience traveling like the locals in Bangkok using the underground metro (MRT), the elevated Skytrain (BTS), or the many metered taxis in the city.

In the morning, the focus will be on culture with visits to the Grand Royal Palace (proper attire required: pants and closed shoes) and the main temples such as Wat Arun and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha, both located along the Chao Phraya River.

The end of the day will be dedicated to the bustling Chinatown district, where you can find everything from the latest gadgets to vintage Thai second-hand items—plenty to marvel at. Your guide will then take you back to your hotel for the evening or to Asiatique The Riverfront, a complex of small shops and restaurants along the city’s main river, the Chao Phraya.

Day 3: Kanchanaburi and its magnificent waterfalls Depart early in a private car with driver for this third day to enjoy the Maeklong Railway Market. You may have already seen incredible photos of Thai vendors on both sides of a railway track quickly clearing their fruit and vegetable stalls as a train passes by! Well, this is where you will be in the morning—an opportunity to discover a local market and the various fruits and vegetables specific to Asia, as well as marvel at the passing train!

You will then head to the Erawan Waterfalls, a series of cascades spread over 7 levels, with waters that are beautifully blue and very clear. During this walk through the waterfalls, there will be plenty of stops to allow you to relax or swim in these crystal-clear waters and enjoy the lush tropical jungle surrounding you. Before being dropped off at your hotel, you will make an essential stop at the Bridge over the River Kwai.

Day 4: The ancient capital of Siam, Ayutthaya Depart early in the morning for this fourth day, heading to the ancient capital of Siam, Ayutthaya. You will explore the magnificent Bang Pa-In Palace before visiting the main temples of the city.

After a day full of history, you will be dropped off at the train station where you will take an overnight train to the “Rose of the North,” Chiang Mai! (Returning to Bangkok by private car is also possible.)
